I was also hugely offended by the speech. Plus I found myself being absolutely enraged. My husband was trying to tell me that "this is politics", but it's two hours later and I'm so angry I can't calm down enough to sleep, and I don't exactly know why. I think part of it was the mocking tone. But more than that, I am so weary of the Republican politics of the last 8 years, and this seems like more of the same. And truth be told, I can't imagine how let down, disappointed, and disgusted I am going to be if McCain wins this election.

There is an article, from her mouth, where she praises Obama's energy plan over McCain's. I think that I downloaded it.

Did not like the speech at all. She presented it well; but, she did not write it, just parroted what was given to her. If you listen to her speeches (if any has been left on the internet ... the Republicans have scrubbed almost everything related to her ... even the sermons of her pastors), you know that she has lousy presentation skills. If there is nothing to hide, why the scrubbing?

I now think that, as was mentioned about Obama, that she and her family has been over exposed. I am truly tired of seeing them, listening to her, listening to things about her, and listening to things about her family. I STILL DO NOT KNOW SARAH PALIN. She MUST define herself!

Forgot to mention ... blue collar worker? Hey, her husband makes between $100,000 to $120,000 a year. Ain't bad for a "blue collar) worker.

Obama does not support "reducing the strength of America."

Never mind that that statement is incredibly vague. Palin is without honor. I get the feeling this woman is willing to do whatever it takes to get her way. Would fit with "troopergate" and the book-banning thing, to mention just a few things.

Voters need to remember one thing, she is a loose cannon, dangerous and they are voting for the feeble looking Mccain for Presdient and a person who is a loose cannon that is a heartbeat from the Presidency. If her background didnt scare you before that speech it should now. She's an empty skirt that has nothing going for her but her attack dog classless sarcasm.

This information will hopefully come out in the mainstream, this is the information that we want to hear, not the pap being fed to us by the media.

To start with, you do not cite to a single source for your "quotes." Where did they come from?

Turning to your claims:

I got to number 1 and had to read it twice. I presume that your quote is to convey that a. and b. are what a mayor does. But did you read the paragraph that preceded them:

The mayor is the chief administrator of the city, has the same powers and duties as those of a manager

And you call her statement a lie, saying "Palin's duty as a mayor was extremely negligible"? Sorry, but your statement is plainly not true.

Then you spin a quote from someone else, claiming that the person "Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment." Really now. We do not even know the source of that comment, but let's use it for all to see how bad she was.

Not so. She may have supported the bridge, but only when it went somewhere. Dems seem to leave out this fact, falsely claiming it was a bridge to nowhere when it went somewhere, claiming Palin is lying. Sorry. Cannot fool me with that one.

In fact, Palin is a reformer. To lie about this by making claims that bear no resemblence to the truth is to show how much of a reformer she is. She has kicked Republicans out of places of control when corruption showed up, and has no problem doing this. She is the reformer, not those who find money from "lobbyists." If that is the standard, let's make certain we compare her to MasterCard Biden and earmark Obama who sought an earmark for her wife's employer who granted her a huge salary increase, then said that he should have gotten his fellow senator to seek the money. Not only seeking it, but hiding who was behind the money. Something he learned well with the money laundering done by Rezko on his behalf.

The Dems have done nothing at all about drilling, leaving the Capitol instead of voting on a drilling proposal and now claiming that they might vote for it if it has numerous other additions.

I have no time to go into your other claimed "lies." Suffice it to say that all this commentary on Obama's patriotism does not sit well with those of us who remember when his wife's pride began, whose church he attended for some twenty years, and who was capable of acting as if the sixties did not even happen and that we have a ton to do for race relations in this country, all the while saying that the Republicans are racists, just like everyone who voted for Hillary Clinton in many states. As disgusting a lie as any in any political year.

The insinuation is that Barack Obama is merely using change to promote his career.

FACT:Obama began his Political career by challenging hundreds of signatures on the nominating petitions of state Sen. Alice Palmer, the longtime progressive activist from the city's South Side. They kept challenging petitions until every one of Obama's four Democratic primary rivals was forced off the ballot. While "technically legal" to challenge voter signature, this same process was used by White Politicians to keep Black candidates off ballots in southern states.

FACT: Obama, who has worked as a lawyer and a legislator to improve living conditions for the poor, took campaign donations from Rezko even as Rezko's low-income housing empire was collapsing, leaving many African-American families in buildings riddled with problems -- including squalid living conditions, vacant apartments, lack of heat, squatters and drug dealers. Rezko raise 250,000.00 for Obama. Rezko will be sentence on 16 counts of influence peddling just 10 days before the election in November.

let's take a look at Obama's record:

FACT:Obama voted against a bill that involved restrictions on a type of abortion where the fetus sometimes survives, occasionally for hours. The restrictions, which never became law, included requiring the presence of a second doctor to care for the fetus. Abortion opponents see Obama's vote on medical care for aborted fetuses as a refusal to protect the helples

Obama also voted Voted AGAINST making gang members eligible for the death penalty if they kill someone to help their gang in 2001.

Her record is one of using lobbyists extensively:

FACT: Obama earmarks: 740 million in earmark requests he made in the past three years

It includes $1 million for the hospital where his wife Michelle is a vice president.

OBAMA secured $1.3 million for a high-explosive technology program for the Army's Bradley Fighting Vehicle. The program was overseen by General Dynamics, and one of Obama's top supporters, James Crown — a member of Obama's national finance committee — serves on the board of General Dynamics.

Obama also secured a $750,000 earmark for renovation of a space center named for Crown's grandfather, Henry Crown, at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

And Obama secured several million dollars for a project at Chicago State University. Illinois State Senate President Emil Jones Jr., a close personal friend of Obama and one of his benefactors, has been a strong supporter of Chicago State, according to the Times.

Other earmarks sought and secured by Obama include more than $10 million for a military arsenal in Rock Island, several million dollars for research on soybean disease and livestock genes, and $100,000 for after-school programs at the Chicago Jesuit Academy.

wooblah: Truth! Palin: Lies!

This is a well written article that completely misses the point. You can argue all day about what a mayor's responsibility is or how a petition was passed and whether it had forged signatures and blah...blah...blah. Who lied about what is usually 99% perspective and that sword will always cut both ways.

The point is that she WANTS to be attacked by the media and by the left and you are playing right into her hand. Her speach was pure, unrelenting, unequivocal provocation of the left. From a certain standpoint, the more the left attacks back, the better the republican's look.

One thing is for sure, this election is NOT going to unite the country no matter who wins.
